Valley Medical Welcomes Dr. Amy Patella for Mental Health Counseling
Valley Medical and Wellness is excited to welcome Dr. Amy Patella to our growing team of mental health counselers. Dr. Patella is a licensed clinical psychologist with a Psy.D. degree from the Chicago School of Clinical Psychology. She comes to Valley Medical and the Twin Cities from the Ozark Center in Joplin, Missouri.
Dr. Patella will be offering mental health counseling services to existing Valley Medical pain and addiction patients. She'll be working out of our Woodbury clinic as well as seeing patients remotely via telemedicine.
Valley Medical warmly welcomes Dr. Patella to the VMW team. She joins our other mental health therapist, Emily Pavlik, in offering counseling to those Valley Medical patients who can benefit from their help.
About Mental Health Counseling at Valley Medical
Many addiction patients can benefit from mental health counseling to help them deal with their substance abuse issues. Mental health counseling can help patients recognize their patterns of abuse, commit to treatment, and develop a relapse prevention plan.
Mental health counseling is also useful for patients suffering from chronic pain. Unstable mental health can interfere with one’s ability to effectively manage chronic pain. Mental health counseling can help coach these patients on behavioral techniques to better manage their pain.
