Are you a healthcare provider who hates long hours and working weekends? Love helping people but want to maintain a healthy work-life balance? Want a schedule that works for you?

If so, we need to talk. Valley Medical and Wellness is looking for more providers to add to our team.

What does Valley Medical and Wellness do?

Valley Medical and Wellness is a premier provider of treatment for chronic pain and addiction with clinics in Plymouth, Minneapolis, Burnsville, Woodbury, Rochester, and Bemidji. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for those suffering from chronic pain or afflicted with addiction. Our advanced practice providers work closely with our patients to identify their problems, set treatment goals, prescribe opioids and other medications, and put methods into place to achieve those goals.

What kind of schedule would you work?

One the great things about working for Valley Medical is our scheduling flexibility. We're not open evenings or weekends, so you don't have to worry about that. Most of our providers work a four-day week, as our clinics are either closed or only open a half-day on Friday. That gives you plenty of long weekends for your personal enjoyment.

What hours would you work? Unlike at some healthcare facilities, the hours at Valley Medical are reasonable and regular:

We're also open to providers who don't want to commit to a full 40-hour week. At Valley Medical, you can work anywhere from a 0.8 to 1.0 FTE schedule, depending on your needs.

What kind of people are we looking for?

Most of our current providers are nurse practitioners (NPs) or physician assistants (PAs). Both NPs and PAs should have the education and experience to examine and diagnose patients, order and interpret tests, and prescribe medications. If you have a background in chronic pain or addiction medicine, great. If not, don’t worry; the skills you’ve previously learned will apply to the work you’ll be doing at Valley Medical.

What does an advanced practice provider at Valley Medical do?

As an advanced practice provider, your day will consist of treating chronic pain and addiction patients and performing the background work necessary to support those patients. We have a lot of patients that rely on our medication treatment, so you’ll be busy. You’ll also be challenged by the complex nature of some of our patients, especially those suffering from a combination of chronic pain and addiction. That’s where your compassion comes in.

At the end of the day, you’ll be rewarded by the progress made by the patients you treat and how you’re able to help them get back in control of their lives. Your patients will depend on you to make their lives better, and that can be its own reward.

To be more specific, here are some of the daily activities that you’ll be performing at Valley Medical:

Monitoring

Where will you be working?

Our current opening is for our new Plymouth clinic, located at 14440 28th Place North, Plymouth, MN. (It’s just off Highway 55, a little west of I-494.) This is a brand new facility with state-of-the-art equipment and provider rooms. We think you’ll like it.

In addition, you’ll be expected to spend some amount of time at our main clinic in Burnsville, at least as you’re getting acclimated. You may also have the opportunity to work some days at our other clinics, on an agreed-upon schedule.

That said, we’re always looking for providers for our other clinics, so if the Plymouth location isn’t your thing, let us know anyway.

Why should you work for Valley Medical and Wellness?

Valley Medical and Wellness is a small clinic (fewer than 100 employees) with a big impact. We’re not part of a big, impersonal corporation; working here is more of a family environment. That means you get closer to your patients and your colleagues than you would elsewhere. It also means you’ll be expected to move quickly and remain flexible when we make changes—and, because we’re a growing practice, be prepared for things changing as we grow.

Teamwork is important to us, as it should be for you. You’ll be working closely with a team of medical assistants and clinical support staff. It’s crucial that everyone works together in the best interests of our patients. Everybody needs to get along both professionally and personally.

Because of our size, you’ll also experience a lot of one-on-one mentoring. That’s a good thing. We’re a patient-first environment but we also care about our employees. We have a vibrant training program for new employees and conduct monthly training sessions for all our clinical operations staff. We want you to continue learning and growing throughout your career here.

You’ll find that working as an advanced practice provider at Valley Medical and Wellness is professionally and financially rewarding. We offer competitive pay and a competitive benefits package that includes health, life and disability insurance, 401K with profit sharing, PTO, paid holidays, CME allowance, and a flex spending plan.

Bottom line, you want to work at Valley Medical and Wellness because it is challenging, rewarding, and fun. You’ll have the opportunity to make a big difference in the lives of your patients and an equal impact on our organization.

We want you to make that impact, so contact us today
