Cancer Pain Management Q & A
What causes cancer pain?
Cancer pain can develop from cancer itself as it invades your tissue or if a cancerous tumor pushes against your nerves, bones, or organs. In some cases, these tumors can also release pain-causing chemicals that lead to discomfort throughout your body.
If you’re already receiving treatment for cancer, such as radiation and/or chemotherapy, you may also be contributing to your chronic pain.
If you can no longer ease your pain with home care, you can schedule a consultation for pain management at Valley Medical and Wellness to learn more about available treatments.
What cancer pain management services are available?
The team at Valley Medical and Wellness is highly experienced in customizing cancer pain management plans to address your pain and improve your quality of life. They offer a variety of pain-relief options, including oral medications available over the counter or by prescription.
Many oral medications can quickly ease existing pain and reduce the frequency of pain that interferes with your mobility and quality of life.
In addition to medication therapy, your Valley Medical and Wellness provider may recommend other strategies for reducing cancer-related pain, such as:
-
Exercises
-
